Employment Rights Bill Update Edition

July brings with it the promise of long summer days, and a long list of proposed employment law changes!


The Government has now published its Implementation Roadmap for the Employment Rights Bill, outlining sweeping reforms to UK workplace rights.


But here’s the good news for employers: the changes are being phased in gradually, with some of the biggest shifts, like ‘day one’ unfair dismissal rights and reforms to zero-hour contracts, not due until 2027. The Government seems to have recognised that employers will need time to adjust, particularly smaller businesses already navigating recruitment and retention challenges.


In this special edition of People Insights, we’ve summarised what’s coming down the line, when to expect it, and what employers should be thinking about now to stay ahead of the curve.
